Fall In Love With Slow Fashion
When people think of fall fashion, they typically think of neutral colors and boring basics. Sustainable fashion, in particular, begins to feel extremely beige and bland. And while we appreciate the cashmere cardigans and tencel turtlenecks, they’re not really our thing. For us, fall is all about embracing endless layers, cozy textures and playful prints. Instead of hiding behind neutral staples, we think of fall as an opportunity to blend the fun of summer with the comfort of winter.
First up is the new Los Angulos collection by Holidaze. The handbeaded pieces celebrate the vibrant energy the vacation-inspired brand is best known for, but with a fall-fashion twist. The colors are a bit more subdued and sophisticated, yet similarly easy to style. Available in six different styles, the Los Angulos necklace can be dressed up or down for any occasion.
Next up is the Short Slip Dress by Laila Textiles. While we’re always quick to jump into knits, fall is actually pretty warm — so there’s still plenty of time for short dresses and spaghetti straps. Available in Moody Rose and Cosmo, the short slip is our go-to fall dress. Perfect for date night or a trip to the farmers market, the short slip is a piece worth investing in. (PS: you can easily throw a sweater on top of this piece to treat it as a skirt and wear it into the chillier days ahead).
The only time we’re ok with a neutral fall outfit is when it’s layered with a ton of accessories. Sterling silver is the perfect fall accessory because it makes a statement without stealing the show. It goes with pretty much anything, and is a simple way to make any basic outfit a bit more interesting. The Chunky Flower Ring by Amemori is our personal favorite, styled here with the Thorn Hoop Earrings and Flower Chain (which can also be worn as a bracelet).
Since we all know that the most sustainable thing to wear is what we already have in our closet, it’s time to get creative about how we can embrace our summer staples all year long. This summer, we met Anaé and immediately became obsessed with their tanks. While we love that each tank is cut and sewn by hand in small batches, it was their 90s-inspired graphics that really did it for us. Layer any tank from their latest drop on top of a long-sleeve blouse you already own and your outfit is done.
Last but not least are these adorable handmade charms by Warm Hugs Only. There’s something about fall that makes us want to wear fruit and vegetable themed items every single day, and these charms are no exception. Our personal favorites are the Strawberry and Pear Crochet Charms. Throw them on a bag to quickly accessorize any outfit, or attach them to your keys so you don’t have to endlessly dig in your purse.
